A former soldier is taking on a gruelling fundraiser.
David Meer is taking part in an incredible endurance event later this month to help raise awareness and funds for the neurological charity The PSP Association.
The former RAF Regiment Soldier from Eastbourne has set himself the Double IronMan Challenge, which takes place on September 20 in Snowdonia National Park.
He will swim eight 1000m laps around the Llanberis Lake, cycle 224 miles around the national park and run 50 miles - including ten miles running up and down Mount Snowdon.
The 40-year-old will be completing the challenge as a tribute to his 75-year-old father, also called David Meer, who was diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease PSP in 2012.
The neurological condition robs people of the ability to walk, talk, feed themselves or communicate effectively.
David said: “After seeing the pain Dad goes through on a daily basis, I decided I had to make people more aware of the condition.”
