A NEW disabled entrance at a church has been vandalised with more than £1,000 worth of damage.
Worshippers arrived at Seaford Baptist Church on Sunday to find the post that held the push button disabled control had been ripped up and moved to the car park.
Lead pastor, the Rev Vicky Martin, said: “It’s devastating to see this damage.
“We were just at the end of a six-year fundraising and rebuilding project to make our premises more accessible. It is like a personal blow for each of us.”
“We don’t receive any public money, or money from a central pot, so every single penny is raised by our community.”
Seaford Baptist Church is popular and the church says it is a blow for the town.
Although the door can still be opened, the damage means the door can only be operated from the inside of the building.
If anyone has any information about the incident on August 6, notify Seaford Police Station.
