A WOMAN suffered a fractured shoulder when she was pushed to the ground by a man trying to steal her handbag.

The 28-year-old was walking home from work when a man ran up behind her and tried to grab the bag.

She hung onto it but the man pushed her over, causing her to fall and fracture her shoulder.

Detective constable Emma Vickers said: "The suspect is described as around 17, around 5' 4" and skinny. He was wearing a brown, hooded top and dark denim jeans.

"This CCTV image shows a man in the area at the time who matches the description and was seen again running from the area after the attempted robbery.
