A HERITAGE group has celebrated its first year with an AGM at an engineering museum.

Brighton and Hove Heritage Commission held the get together on Wednesday night at the Engineerium in Hove.

Owner Mike Holland fired up a number of the machines for the event attended by around 70 people.

The group was set up to bring like minded people together and assist with heritage issues around the city.

Duncan Cameron, vice chairman of the group, said: “There was a general feeling of dissatisfaction with heritage and how it was being dealt with. We felt we could do a better job. We have had a very successful year and we are looking forward to growing and devel-oping our website.”

The group, which is made up of volun-teers, is calling on local groups with heritage issues to con-tact them. They will then do what they can to represent them and preserve the city’s heritage.
