A man caused rail disruption after he refused to leave a train.

The 22-year-old man was believed to have no ticket when he refused to get off at Chichester Station.

The encounter took place at 6.30am today with the train resuming its journey at 6.39am.

He was searched and arrested by police on suspicion of the theft of a bank card.

The incident meant that the following service, the 6.35am Chichester to Brighton train, was delayed and terminated at Hove.

Normally it would return as the 7.37am Brighton to Portsmouth Harbour service.
