Post office staff were held at knife point in an attempted robbery this morning.
Police say a man pulled a knife and demanded money as he entered the Hampden Park post office, Roseberry Avenue, Eastbourne, at noon.
Sussex Police say the man left empty handed and no-one was injured, but officers are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Police are describing the man as tanned and wearing a light coloured hoodie and sunglasses.
A spokesman said: "Anyone who saw the man or has any information is asked to contact police on 101, email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
It is the second time the post office has been targeted in the last 18 months.
