A Brighton baker is hoping she can do an-oeuf to be named the nation’s best Scotch egg maker.
Journalist Jessica Mason, of Queen’s Gardens, Brighton, is set to take on the word of egg, pork and breadcrumbs at the annual Scotch Egg Challenge tonight.
Keen amateur cook Jessica will be competing against professional chefs and gastropubs in the contest by serving up quails eggs wrapped in pork, leeks and beer crumbs.
The final judgement will lie in the hands of a panel of food experts who will cast their vote for the best entries following a blind tasting at the Ship pub in Wandsworth tonight.
