A man dressed as a pirate punched another man in the face during a family fun-day.

Detectives are trying to identify the pirate who attacked a 38-year-old man during the annual Pirates Day celebration in Hastings on Sunday July 20.

The victim was attacked at Family Amusements in Pelham Place shortly after he was confronted by a group of three men, who appeared to be with a blonde woman.

He was punched before the group left the arcade. The victim suffered severe bruising to the eye and face.

A CCTV still of the suspect shows a man dressed in a red bandana and waistcoat with a large white square on his back.

Response investigator Sarah Jones said: "Although this happened back on July 20 the attacker was wearing very distinctive clothing and someone may recognise him.

"We have been carrying out inquiries since the assault but have so far been unable to identify him.

"If you know who he is or where he could be, please contact us."
