A YOUNG cricket star has spoken of her delight after her team was crowned national champions for a second year in a row.
Holly Tasker along with the rest of her team, Sussex Women Under-17s Cricket team lifted the national trophy after a 46-run win over Lancashire in the Final held at Moseley Cricket Club.
Sussex posted 195-8, and after an hour-long rain delay which gave Lancashire a reduced target as overs were lost, the team succeeded in bowling them out.
Holly said: “It feels fantastic to be crowned National Champions for the second year in a row, and to remain unbeaten since 2012.
“It has been a real team effort all the way – requiring a lot of hard work and commitment. I am just so pleased and proud to have been part of this team, and I am already looking forward to the new season.”
