Travellers have camped up in Stanmer Park without permission
TRAVELLERS have set up camp in Stanmer Park without permission.
Brighton and Hove City Council officers have visited the site, off the A270 Lewes Road, Brighton, with police and say they are “assessing the most appropriate course of action.”
They are also assessing an unauthorized camp less than half a mile away in Wild Park.
The council added today it had gained possession orders to evict one unauthorised camp of travellers in Preston Park and one of ‘van dwellers’ in land next to Devil’s Dyke Road, if the occupants do not leave voluntarily.
