Sussex's seaside attractions will star in a new set of stamps released by Royal Mail today.

The specially-released set of stamps focuses on the UK’s pier and seaside architecture and includes offerings from Brighton, Worthing, Eastbourne and Bexhill.

One of the ten stamps is a shot Brighton’s iconic Palace Pier, with the Helter Skelter ride taking full prominence.

A shot from the decking on Worthing pier will prove a familiar sight for the town’s residents in another stamp, while a shelter on Bexhill seafront also features.

An illuminating shot of Eastbourne bandstand, complete with a brass band playing inside, completes Sussex’s contribution.

Other stamps making up the rest of the set include Llandudno pier in North Wales, Southend pier in Essex and Tineside Lido in Plymouth.

Councillor Brian Fitch and his wife Norah, the mayor and mayoress of Brighton, helped Royal Mail launch the new stamps by posing for pictures this week.

The set is available to buy online at royalmail.com/seasidearchitecture, by calling 03457 641 641 or at 8,000 Post Offices across the UK.

All ten stamps are available in a presentation pack for £10.05 or a miniature sheet of four pier stamps costs £3.80.
