TOP chef Steven Edwards has officially opened a specialist orthopaedic centre’s new kitchen and dining room.

Mr Edwards, who won the BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals in 2013, also created a brand new signature dish for the menu at the Horder Centre in Crowborough.

The new dining area has been specially designed for patients and staff to create a light and natural environment in keeping with the centre’s location on the edge of Ashdown Forest.

The centre, run by Horder Healthcare, prepares and cooks every meal fresh on site and works with seasonal ingredients from local suppliers.

It has its own herb garden and is currently working towards gaining Soil Association Accreditation, a guarantee which means all produce used in food preparation meets the highest standards of sustainability and quality.

Mr Edwards is head chef of the Camellia Restaurant at South Lodge in Horsham.
