The man whose four-and-a-half hour rooftop standoff with police brought a central Brighton street to a standstill has pleaded guilty to wasting police time.

Jordan Rudwick appeared before Brighton Magistrates Court today after he was arrested in Spring Street, Brighton yesterday.

The 19-year-old trainee electrician pleaded guilty to wasting police time.

Prosecutor Martina Sherlock said it took 30 police officers, including two police negotiators, to talk Rudwick down.

She said he had gone on to the roof of home and businesses in central Brighton after he was spotted by police officers.

Rudwick, of North Road, Brighton, will be sentenced at a later date.
