Part of the Pavilion Gardens in Brighton has been cordoned off by police after a man was stabbed in the back this morning.
Three men were walking through the gardens at about 5.40am when they were set upon by a large group of teenagers near to the cafe.
During the incident, one of the men suffered a puncture wound to his back, thought to have been caused by a knife.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and has since been discharged.
Eight people were arrested at the scene and are currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
The area was sealed off while police forensics teams searched the area for the weapon.
Brighton Museum has been closed today as its entrance cannot be accessed by staff and public while police investigations continue.
This has meant the cancellation of the 3D Archaeology event scheduled to take place at the museum today.
Witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Sussex Police on 101.
