A man was punched in the face and left with damaged teeth over a "minor driving dispute".
The victim was driving north on Queens Road, Hastings, when the assault took place between 4.00pm and 4.15pm, and when another man punched him through the car's open window.
The suspect is described as white, aged 25 to 35, 5'9" to 5'11", of slim build with brown eyes, short dark brown hair and stubble. He was wearing brown cargo style shorts and white socks.
The incident started at Pelham Cresent Roundabout in Hastings and continued through the town centre, with the victim's car being blocked by the offender's car at the top of Queens Road.
The victim will require specialist dental treatment.
Detective Sergeant Tony Webb said: "This is a serious assault over what appears to be some minor driving dispute and the actions of the offender are clearly unacceptable."
