Police believe a black Range Rover Sport worth more than £60,000 could have been stolen to order.
The vehicle was taken from the Poynings area north of Brighton between 10.30 pm on Thursday (September 25) and 7.10am the next day.
The vehicle, registration FR11 STY, has distinctive non-standard brown leather upholstery. One line of enquiry being followed by police is that it may have been stolen to order.
The car's owner is in the motor trade and other dealers have been notified of the theft. Meanwhile, anyone who may have seen the vehicle or who may have other information that could assist detectives is asked to contact police.
They should email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 251 of September 26. Alternatively they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
