Power to railway lines was turned off after a trespasser ran out on to the track.
Southern Rail engineers shut off power between Arundel and Lancing at about 11.40am this morning after a trespasser got on to the railway line at Goring Railway Station.
The power out left trains at a standstill with delays of up to 30 minutes, short notice alterations and some cancellations on Southern services.
Power was restored at around 12.30 after the trespasser was apprehended by police but services are still suffering from some delays with Southern tickets being accepted on Brighton and Hove buses and Stagecoach bus route 700 until the normal timetable has been restored.
