A FATHER lost his wife’s wedding rings just days after his baby twins were born.

Ben Cordingley decided to treat his wife Lucy after the birth of identical twin boys Lucas and Jacob by taking her wedding and engagement rings to be polished.

He also bought her a new pair of diamond earrings.

But Ben left the shopping bag in the car park at Churchill Square shopping centre yesterday.

The family, from Shoreham, is desperate to find the irreplaceable rings.

Lucy’s sister Elizabeth said: “My sister had premature twins and delivered them completely naturally and they are totally healthy and amazing.

“They are still in intensive care with the babies and obviously over the moon but losing the rings has been a bit deflating.

“We are just hoping someone has got them and are begging that someone has the heart to give them back.

“We don’t really care about the diamond earrings, it’s just the rings that have so much sentimental value that are so important to them.

“Lucy’s a superwoman to have had the twins totally naturally without intervention and just with hypnosis, but it’s been a massive pop to their bubble to lose the rings.”

The missing rings were in a Mothercare carrier bag, which also contained some pyjamas which were a gift from Finn for his baby brothers, and a plain black bag containing the earrings and a box containing the diamond wedding ring and engagement ring.

The devastated family is offering a reward for the safe return of the rings.

The engagement ring is a princess cut diamond with eight small diamonds on each shoulder. The wedding ring has small diamonds all round. Both rings are platinum and were in a Kellerwoods box.
