A GUN was seized in an armed police stand-off with a 56-year-old man in a caravan.
Officers were called to a farm in Fysie Lane, Etchingham, shortly after 4.30pm on Wednesday after reports shots had been fired after a man visited the caravan. 1/10
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The visitor was walking away from the caravan at the time shots were reported to have been fired. Nobody was hurt and there was no damage.
“The man in the caravan came out at the request of armed officers about an hour later and was arrested. There were no shots and no injuries.
“Police seized an air rifle.
“The 56-year old man is currently in custody, for interview and further enquiries, on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
“A police helicopter was called to assist but the incident was resolved before it arrived.”
