Susan Elizabeth Best, 55, of Kingscote Way, Brighton, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated use of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, with intent. Ordered to take part in 10 Inspire reducing offending sessions, pay £100 compensation, £250 fine, £60 victim surcharge and £120 costs.

Lisa Clare Lintott, 53, of Saxon Close, Saltdean, pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle alleged to have been guilty of an offence, both in 2012. Fined £320, plus £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 42 days, given six points on licence.

Neil Michael Scott-O’Connor, 18, of Coombe Vale, Saltdean, pleaded guilty to harassment, after sending hundreds of messages including “You’re gonner regret this” [sic] and sending a picture of person self harming. Given a 24-month conditional discharge and a restraining order. Ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge and £400 costs.

Lee David Gary Mills, 23, of Bamford Close, Brighton, pleaded guilty to assault and resisting a PC doing his duty. Jailed for ten weeks. Ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge.

Odette Letiticia Anne Pearce, 42, of Oriental Place, Brighton, pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing a handbag, of value unknown, with another; stealing clothing from Gap Kids. Given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

William Lyall, 53, of Lower Rock Gardens, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing a quantity of knives, value unknown, from Berts Homestore, and failing to answer bail. Fined £73, ordered to pay £23.90 compensation, £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

John Burkinshaw, 56, of Rustington Road, Brighton, was found guilty of drink-driving; pleaded guilty to criminal damage and assault. Jailed for eight weeks suspended for 6 months. Ordered to pay £80 victim surcharge and £500 costs. Banned from driving for 12 months, to be reduced by three months if completes an approved driving course.

Ricky Lee Jones, 32, of Bexhill Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £35.79 from Morrisons; stealing fishing rods and tackle worth £280 from a man at Brighton Marina; stealing fishing equipment and binoculars from the same person over a period of two weeks; failing to answer bail; and committing an offence while on a conditional discharge for theft. Ordered to have treatment for drug dependency over six months; pay £372.92 compensation and £60 victim surcharge.

Temesken Gurr, 19, of St Catherine’s Terrace, Hove, pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of BEO Play 6 headphones, worth £329, from Bang and Olufsen in Hove. Fined £75, ordered to pay victim surcharge of £25 and £85 costs.
