A STAMP book containing 1,000 to 1,500 stamps was stolen from a house.

The valuable, green-bound book was stolen when the doors were left open to ventilate the house while it was being decorated.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary in Kingston Road, Lewes, between Tuesday September 16 and Friday September 19.

Detective Constable Richie Davidson said: "This appears to be an opportunist incident and I would appeal for anyone who has been offered a stamp book to get in touch so it can be reunited with the owner."

Any witness or anyone with information is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 804 of 17/10.

Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
