A MAN has appeared in court charged with a series of attempted robberies.
Shane Elmer, 35, of Oriental Place, Brighton, is accused of four attempted robberies at Gunn's Pharmacy, in Western Road, the Salvation Army in Sackville Road, Hove, Belcher's Cafe in Montpelier Road, Brighton, and at The Salon in Goldstone Villas, Hove, on October 24.
He has also been charged with robbing the pharmacy of drugs, possessing a pair of scissors as an offensive weapon, trying to steal a poppy appeal box from the hairdressers in Hove and stealing another charity box from the Salvation Army.
He appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Monday, 27/10, and has been remanded in custody to appear at crown court.
