A FOLK band entertained crowds with the sounds of sweet music and the taste of own-brewed beer.

Popular act Bellowhead teamed up Lewes brewing institution Harveys for a tasty tipple.

After getting hands-on with the brewing earlier this month, they returned to launch Revival Ale – and play a song or two.

Band members Jon Boden, John Spiers, Andy Mellon and Brendan Kelly took part in the celebration, which was held on Tuesday lunchtime.

Crowds gathered outside the 224-year-old family brewery to see the horse-drawn dray cart and enjoy a taste of the beer.

Revival is the first ale in Harveys’ history to be distributed outside its usual 80-mile radius.

Bob Trimm, Harveys sales and marketing manager, said: “There is a long and established connection between beer and folk music and specifically with Harveys in the Sussex area.

“We’re delighted to be able to link up with Bellowhead to provide not just great beer, but a fantastic reason to go to pubs.”

The ale will be available at pubs on Bellowhead’s forthcoming tour and ready for delivery at the start of November.

It will also be available in bottles via the Harveys webshop.
