Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie has been named Best British Actress at a prestigious ceremony.
The Sussex-born actress picked up the gong at the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards at Claridge's in London.
The 36-year-old was born in a hamlet near Worthing and went to school at Warden Park in Cuckfield.
She is best known for playing warrior Brienne of Tarth in hit TV series Game of Thrones.
She is also set to appear in the upcoming Hunger Games film as well as the new Star Wars movie.
Others picking up gongs at the award ceremony included Carey Mulligan and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
