Brighton and Hove’s weird and unique interests have been discovered through by polling firm YouGov.

YouGov, the firm best known for compiling opinion polls ahead of elections, have released a sample of the data they have which profiles people with certain interests.

The answers given by a sample of 561 in the area reveal the population in Brighton and Hove are more female, with the most popular ages being between 25 and 39.

Politically, the residents of Brighton and Hove are shown to be left leaning.

Those surveyed admit they are occasionally lazy.

The locals are clearly quite digitally savy and surfing the internet named as the most popular thing to do with any free time, with more than 50 hours spent online as opposed to watching television which they do for less than an hour a week.

As for entertainment, the most popular music artist for city residents is Rihanna; the most popular national newspaper is the Guardian and the most visited website in Brighton and Hove is this one.
