A COUPLE celebrate 60 years of wedded bliss today.
Monty and Jeaninne Brett, from Westdene, Brighton, moved to the area in 1968 and liked it so much they have stayed. They put their longevity down to having plenty of interests.
Mrs Brett, 82, said: “We keep busy and are quite active people. My husband goes to the allotment and I like gardening.”
Mrs Brett was working at The Royal Hotel in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, in 1953 when she met her husband-to-be, who was the assistant manager.
Mr Brett, 84, has advice for newlyweds. He said: “If there is a small disagreement, just make it up later on.”
They have three children, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr Brett added: “We haven’t enough time in the day to do everything we would like to. I have a job keeping up with her.”
