A search operation is underway after somebody was spotted jumping from Brighton's Palace Pier this afternoon.
Brighton RNLI said its crew was being assisted by Newhven RNLI and the Coastguard.
Somebody was spotted jumping in at about 1.35pm.
Roger Cohen, lifeboat operations manager at Brighton RNLI, said: "We launched at about 1.35 after somebody jumped from the pier into the water.
"We've been joined by Newhaven and the Coastguard but have no more to tell you at the moment."
