A SHEEPDOG capable of top speeds of 40mph and with great fuel economy is set to become a festival attraction after being sold on eBay.

This larger-than-life sheepdog has been sold by farmer Dave Isaac after ten years of keeping his herd of sheep in line on his 180-acre farm.

Mr Isaac has recouped the £2,000 he spent on fitting out a family car with fur to look like his favourite sheepdog Floss after selling her on eBay.

The pupped-up Peugeot, which the 46-year-old farmer created in memory of his beloved sheepdog, has been bought by a Brighton-based organiser of The Secret Garden Party festival.

Mr Isaac decided to sell the car because it proved too big to fit through farm gates and along narrow farm tracks.

Following nationwide publicity in newspapers and on television, 19 bidders made a combined 50 bids during the online auction which ended on Sunday.

The father-of-three, who lives near Battle, said his attention to detail in recreating Floss had paid off and managed to convince his herd they were being rounded up a larger sheep dog, albeit one with headlights and an exhaust pipe.

The new owners won’t be able to take his new best friend out on the open road as the car is not road legal.

Mr Isaac, who now has a new sheepdog called Lad to help him out around the farm, said: “It has gone to a good home, that’s the most important thing.

“I need the space in the barn for my machinery over the winter.

“They are coming to see it today to try and work out how on earth they are going to move it. I was really surprised in the level of interest.”
