A MUSIC lover celebrated her 103-year old birthday in style on Wednesday.
Family and friends gathered to mark Eve Trimble’s “amazing achievement” at Autumn Lodge care home, Rutlands Gardens in Hove.
Staff organised a tea party which was also attended by Mrs Trimble’s relatives including her son Graham and her 100-year-old cousin from Eastbourne.
After tucking into a cake the care home was alive with the sound of some of Mrs Trimble’s favourite music.
Assistant manager Angie Banks said: “She is a lovely lady and extremely lively. She is always the first up on her feet, she loves a knees up to old time pub classics and enjoys listening to music.”
Mrs Trimble used to work in the now closed Zetlands Bakery in Hove and also in Clarks bakery in Brighton station.
She moved from her Hove home into the care home in June and although she has dementia and her eyesight is diminishing, she had no trouble in blowing out the candles on her birthday cake and making a wish.
Graham Trimble, from Brighton, said: “It was an excellent day and everyone enjoyed it.”
