A SPATE of break-ins has prompted a police warning.

Three homes were broken into – two on the same street- and high-value goods taken.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crimes at homes in the Langney area of Eastbourne between November 13 and November 21.

Jewellery, a Playstation Vita, Samsung laptop, Windows Surface tablet and iPod touch were taken from a house in Monarch Gardens on November 13 (Thursday) between 8.10am and 5.15pm.

A Nintendo Wii and two Sony PlayStations were swiped from another house in Monarch Gardens between about 11.30pm on November 20 and 7am on November 21.

Also on November 21 their dogs barking shortly after 2am woke a family in Aylesbury Avenue who went downstairs to find the front door open and saw a man running away.

The victim's handbag was found dumped nearby the next morning but nothing was stolen from it.

DC Sheila Nicholson said reminded people to secure their houses, adding: “Opportunistic thieves try doors and handles; don't make it easy for them.”
