A CHILD was hit by an ambulance and taken to hospital.
The five-year-old boy collided with the yellow Fiat Ducato at 4.41pm on Tuesday 25/11 in Eastern Road, Brighton.
He was taken to the accident and emergency department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and only sustained minor injuries, a police spokesman said.
The ambulance driver, a 49-year-old man from Shoreham, was unhurt, and no police action has been taken. No passengers were reported to have been aboard.
Traffic was delayed while the road was closed for 30 minutes.
A spokesman from the South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed the ambulance involved was not one belonging to the organisation and was a private firm.
He said: “We were called but we did not attend the incident as the boy had already been taken in to hospital.”
