A man has been charged with assault following a five hour stand-off with police.
Shane Wickham, 51, is due to appear before court today facing two charges of assaulting police officers in the execution of their duty.
If follows a stand-off with police and bailiffs at an address in West Park Crescent in Burgess Hill yesterday (November 25).
The man was being evicted from a property following a High Court order.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Shane Wickham, 51, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of assaulting police officers in the execution of their duty.
“He was due to appear before Crawley magistrates today (Wednesday, November 26).”
