PART of the A27 was closed for nearly two hours yesterday morning after two accidents within miles of each other. 26/11

Just before 9am there was a crash between a black Ford KA and white Volkswagen Caddy eastbound between the Kingston and Southerham roundabout.

The drivers suffered minor injuries. A 21-year-old Brighton woman, the driver of the KA, suffered minor whiplash injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital to be checked over. The 59-year-old man from Crawley, the driver of the Volkswagen, had a slight wrist injury but did not go to hospital.

The road was closed while emergency services were on scene and the debris was cleared from the road. The road fully reopened at 10.30am.

Meanwhile a second accident caused the road to be closed by the Steyning junction but no more details are available at this stage.
