SUPERHEROES Batman and Robin swapped the Batmobile for a taxi as part of an NHS awareness campaign.

The Caped Crusader and his sidekick joined Brighton and Hove Streamline Taxis to officially launch a “cabvert”.

The video, which will be played in the headrests of the taxi fleet during the next six months, promotes Brighton and Hove Clinical Commisioning Group’s (CCG) Great Choices Make Great Heroes campaign.

It is expected to be seen by more than 36,000 passengers a month.

The campaign raises awareness of who to call and where to go in the city for health advice and treatment outside of hospital.

This includes out-of-hours GPs, a walk-in centre, pharmacists and the NHS 111 service.

Choosing the right service at the right time eases pressure on A&E at the already overstretched department of the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

CCG chief clinical officer Christa Beesley said the cabvert was designed to help direct people to www.wecould beheroes.nhs.uk.

She said: “You can even bookmark the site on your phone by scanning the QR code in the advert directly from the taxi’s screen.
