A motorist who veered across a road while driving with fog lights on has been banned from the road for a year.

Louise Flind was arrested at 10.50pm on June 20 after officers stopped her BMW on the A26 at Beddingham because it was veering across the road and had its fog lights on.

The 48-year-old, of Gorham's Lane in Telscombe, admitted drink-driving when she appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court last Thursday and was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £400 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £40 victim surcharge.

Also facing a year’s driving ban is Kim McGowan who was arrested at 1.40pm on June 27 after officers were passed information that he could be drink-driving in Ferring Street, Ferring.

The 64-year-old, of Ferring Marine in Ferring, admitted drink-driving when he appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

The pair are the latest to be convicted from Sussex Police’s month-long drink-drive campaign was run in June as part of Operation Dragonfly.

Of the 119 people to have been charged, 104 have been convicted of offences so far with the remaining 15 still being dealt with by the courts.
