BRIGHTON

Bakare Bayo-Sankare, aged 23, of Bedford Square, Brighton, pleaded guilty to being found in possession of cannabis in Dyke Road, Brighton, on September 6. He was fined £55 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.

Paul Anthony Wright, aged 41, of Thornton Road, Bevendean, Brighton, pleaded guilty to stealing a handbag containing wallet, cards, cash, a mobile phone and sunglasses, wor th a total of £920 on July 1 in Jubilee Street, Brighton, and then failing to answer bail at Crowhurst Road Custody Centre in Brighton on July 22. He was sentenced to jail for eight weeks and imprisoned for two weeks to run concurrently for failing to surrender to custody.

Emma Shephard, aged 30, of The Linkway, Brighton, was found guilty of failing to notify the Depar tment For Work and Pensions and Brighton and Hove City Council of a change in her circumstances between August 2010 and December 2011, that her husband was working and able to financially suppor t her, which affected her entitlement to claim income suppor t, council tax benefit and housing benefit. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 costs.

HOVE

George Beresford, aged 47, of Warenne Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to opening the door of a Skoda Octavia to injure or endanger a person in Lansdowne Road, Hove, on May 29. Fined £120, ordered to pay victim surcharge of £20 and £85 costs.

Scott Christopher Bohannon, aged 39, of Western Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra in West Way, Hove without insurance, without a licence and exceeding the drink-drive limit on September 11. He was fined a total of £257, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85 and disqualified from driving for 17 months.

Matthew John McEachen, aged 32, of Sturring Close, Hove, pleaded guilty to being found to be in possession of cannabis on three occasions in Roedale Road, Brighton, on January 23, on April 7 in Freshfield Road, Brighton, and on November 3 in Westbourne Villas, Hove. He was fined a total of £165 – £55 for each incident, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and ordered to pay costs of £100.

Marc Bradley McSweeney, aged 34, of Wilbury Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to stealing a bag in Nor th Street, Brighton, on October 24, stealing a bottle of Versace Eros perfume wor th £63.50 from Boots in Nor th Street, Brighton, on November 2, failing to give a specimen for a drugs test at St George’s Place, Brighton, on October 31 and failing to answer bail at Crowhurst Road Custody Centre in Brighton on October 31. He was made subject to a community order with drug rehabilitation requirements, fined £25 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60.

Jack Dene, aged 23, of Clarendon Road, Hove, pleaded guilty to being in possession of cannabis in Foredown Road, Portslade, on September 9. He was fined £73 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and pay costs of £85.

PORTSLADE

Joseph Wareham, aged 26, of Gladstone Road, Portslade, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen Polo along New Church Road, Hove, while over the drink drive limit on September 8. He was fined £350 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35, costs of £85 and was disqualified from driving for 21 months.
