A GOOD Samaritan came to the aid of a rape victim.

The 20-year old victim was found in a distressed condition by a passing woman in the Lewes Road area of Brighton at about 11.30pm on Wednesday, December 3.

The woman who found her took to her nearby home in a blue and white taxi and ensured she was reunited with her flat mates.

Detective Sergeant Steve French said: “We would like the good samaritan, who is described as slim, in her 20s and with long straight brown hair and wearing a long dark coat, to come forward and talk to us.

“From our enquiries it appears that as the victim was leaving the Oxygen bar in West Street at about 10.30pm that evening she was approached by a man who we also want to speak to.

“He is described as black and wearing a blue jacket with a fur trimmed collar.

“We believe they walked together at least as far as the Pavilion Gardens area so we also need to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Lewes Road area between 10.30pm and 11.30pm.”
