LIZZIE the octopus is leaving Brighton’s SeaLife centre.

Giant Pacific octopus Lizzie and her friends at the Octopus Garden attraction are off to pastures new on January 21 – but a new Jurassic Seas attraction will soon take their place at the aquarium.

General manager Max Leviston said: “It has been a real pleasure to showcase Octopus Garden in our aquarium over the last year.

“The creatures are truly enchanting – and I’m sure a lot of octopus fans have been created as a result of visiting them.

“The whole exhibition has been very popular with our visitors and we shall be sad to see it go, but we are hugely excited to welcome Jurassic Seas to SeaLife Brighton in 2015.

“To be the first aquarium in the world to host this new experience is a real privilege and the team and I can’t wait to invite our visitors to be a part of it.”

Octopuses are one of the most intelligent sea creatures and last Christmas Lizzie learned to open her advent calendar on the right day to win a fishy treat.
