A woman has been bitten by a dog after defending her own animal who was being attacked.
The 76-year-old was walking her Labrador in the recreation ground adjacent to Goring Hall Hospital in Worthing when another dog, described as a Doberman, attacked it.
The pensioner attempted to prevent the attack but was bitten on the wrist.
The owner of the Doberman is described as a white woman aged between 35 and 45, with fair hair and is believed to be local. They did not stop to exchange details.
The Labrador owner received hospital treatment for her injury. Her dog was unhurt.
PC Dave Pettman of Sussex Police said; "If you know who the Doberman owner is, please contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call us on 101, quoting serial 558 of December 10."
