TWO people from Brighton have been arrested and charged as part a drink driving crackdown.

Alicia Hinton, 45, was arrested at 9.25pm on December 15 after police were called to a report that a car had crashed into a parked vehicle and a lamppost at Brighton Marina and then driven off.

Hinton, of The Strand, Brighton Marina Village, was charged with drink-driving and failing to stop after an accident. She was released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on 10 February.

Dee Pak was arrested at 2am on December 16 after officers stopped his vehicle on suspicion it was being driven without insurance.

A total of 49 motorists have so far been charged with offences after they were arrested this month in Sussex's drink and drug-driving crackdown.

For the first time, the campaign is being run jointly by Sussex Police and Surrey Police alongside Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, Drive Smart in Surrey and Crimestoppers.
