College staff raise money for Blind Veterans UK
College staff raised cash for war veterans by putting their knowledge to the test in a fundraising quiz.
City College Brighton and Hove raised £150 for Blind Veterans UK by holding the quiz last month.
Principal Lynn Thackway and sports coordinator Kirstie Hickson presented the charity with a cheque at the college’s base in Wilson Avenue yesterday.
The money was accepted by war heroes Jim Hartley and Paul Jacobs. Paul, the recipient of a George Medal for his bravery in Afghanistan, also took part in a sponsored row for the charity.
