SCHOOLCHILDREN took to the ice after being told to get their skates on.
The 53 pupils of Lewes Old Grammar School, all in years five and six, followed two teachers onto the rink.
The Torvill and Dean of the school’s teaching staff were experienced husband and wife skating partners Sam and Gemma Rahm.
The pair led the group around the ice of the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink on Wednesday, December 10.
Some had never been skating before and were helped along by those more used to zipping over the ice.
To mark the school’s first ever skate-off, pupils dressed for the festive season.
