A YOUTH centre has celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Staff, volunteers, current and former visitors to the Young People’s Centre in Ship Street, Brighton, gathered for a tea party to mark the occasion.
The centre has evolved with different names since it opened in May, 1984 but has still maintained its focus in supporting young people in times of hardship.
Ben Glazebrook, manager, said: “It was great to get together with past and present members and it is an achievement that we are still here. In that time, although we have had to adapt, we have still offered a safe place for young people to come and deliver services to look after their health and wellbeing. ”
The centre offers drop-in sessions which include helping with confidence as well as organising groups so girls and young women can talk about body image and youngsters can discuss any issues or concerns.
