Tributes have been left at the roadside to a leisure park worker who died just a few hundred metres from his workplace.

The 35-year-old Paradise Park employee was killed when he was struck by a heavy goods vehicle as he crossed the A26 in Newhaven with another colleague on Friday.

His co-worker, a 65-year-old man from Bishopstone, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries.

A number of flowers and messages have been left at the crash site from relatives and colleagues.

One begins “Dear Peter, you are a fantastic son” while another from “your son Carson and your flower” reads “dearest Peter wish you could have stayed with us so muc, you will always be loved and remembered”.
