Youngsters looking up in wonderment on Christmas Eve might just be able to catch a glimpse of Father Christmas and his team of reindeer as they fly over Brighton and Hove on their journey delivering presents to the children of the world.

The shining light speeding across the night sky will be rather more technological than the average child bargained for however.

It most certainly won't be a team of magic reindeer.

The bright light will in fact be the International Space Station, which is due to pass over the UK between 5.30pm and 6pm on December 24.

With youngsters likely to be on the lookout for Santa, parents might just choose to point up into the night sky and let them draw their own conclusions.

According to NASA, if the sky is clear, the ISS will be visible over the city at 5.22pm for four minutes and again at 6.58pm for another minute.
