A cyclist has died after being hit on the A22 High Street in Nutley.
The road was closed both ways closed due to the accident between School Lane and Crowborough Road at about 10am today (Sunday).
The cyclist was hit by a Renault Megane outside the Nutley Service Station.
East Sussex Road Policing Unit announced at about 3.30pm: "Sadly the cyclist involved in the collision in #nutley has now died. Please bear with us whilst the road remains closed for investigation."
The road re-opened at about 3.45pm.
A spokeswoman from Sussex Police said: “Sadly the rider of the pedal cycle died at the scene. Police would like to thank people caught up in the tailbacks and disruption the road closure has caused for their patience and understanding.”
Witnesses to the collision are asked to call 101, or e-mail collission.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Op Dale.
