Elm Grove Residents Action Group is holding a meeting about parking on Thursday 22nd January, 7.30pm at Elm Grove School.

The local LAT states:

"As some of you may be aware there has been ongoing discussion in HEGLAT (Hanover and Elm Grove Action Team) about parking. Due to the the Council Policy of expanding rigourous schemes (8am-8pm everyday) surrounding our area,  things have become desperate in many streets (particularly in Hanover), forcing residents into wanting a CPZ.

Just look at the scheme introduced in December in the Upper Lewes Road area, those streets are mostly empty now, as are the streets around Queens Park and elsewhere. Problems have also been exacerbated by the Council's decision to enforce restrictions on Elm Grove which were against the wishes of the vast majority of the community.

Through the HEGLAT some residents have been looking at a 'Community Friendly' parking scheme and in Hanover, it looks like there is some appetite for a soft touch scheme there i.e. a CPZ that would have restrictions in place for a couple of hours a day only, (not 8 til 8 everyday), to prevent people leaving their vehicles all day, or even longer in some cases.
