AN URGENT appeal has been launched to help a mother dying from cancer spend more precious time with her children.

Family and friends of Sam Beaven are trying to raise £50,000 so she can fly to Mexico for pioneering treatment which could prolong her life.

Her older daughter Bracken, six, has offered to sell all her toys to help boost funds.

The Beavens are prepared to sell their car, jewellery and everything they have.

Mrs Beaven said: “I just don’t have any time to waste now and I so desperately want to live for my little girls.”

The 29-year-old was diagnosed with cervical cancer just over a year ago when pregnant with younger daughter Daisy.

After Daisy was born prematurely at only 26 weeks, Mrs Beaven immediately began treatment and it emerged the cancer had spread to her lungs.

She responded well to treatment and became hopeful she would live to see Daisy start school.

But this week Mrs Beaven was rushed to hospital after a fit and a scan revealed the cancer had spread to her brain.

A new type of hypothermia treatment in Mexico could help Mrs Beaven and has prolonged life in some cases.

Mrs Beaven, from Patcham, Brighton, who married husband Alex, 27, in May, said: “I want to sit in a room and cry all day but I have to try and remain positive and carry on for my two little girls.

“I’m the kind of person that fights and I can’t begin to tell you how hard it was to find out it has spread to my brain.

“I want to live. I want to be there for my little girls. My youngest Daisy is still having problems after being born so prematurely and it’s also affecting my other daughter Bracken.

“My husband is my rock. He’s amazing and I feel guilty for putting this emotional pressure on him.

“It’s having a huge impact as he’s so desperate to help me but when you have kids you have to try and keep a normal household.

“All the NHS is offering me is treatment to prolong my life and they say I have just months.

“They are trying to bring this treatment to the UK but I don’t have time to waste.

“I don’t want to leave my little girls behind but I would do anything to live and I’d be willing to give up my house and everything I own to be there for my little girls and my husband.”

Family friend Wendy Campling is helping co-ordinate the fundraising campaign.

She said: “Sam is an inspiration, a real fighter, and was doing so well before this devastating news. Time is running out.”
