A POP-UP cafe for people living with dementia and their carers was held today to coincide with the launch of the latest Reading Agency initiative.

The event, at the Jubilee Library in Brighton, will provide a place for families living with the condition to meet each other and get advice and information from health professionals.

The scheme is run by Brighton and Hove City Council in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society.

The event also marks the launch of the latest Reading Agency initiative, which promotes a new collection of books on dementia, chosen by health experts and carers groups.

Titles will be available to borrow in libraries across the city.

A cafe is due to open at Hangleton Library next month.
