THE FAMILY of a man who died in a car crash on Friday has paid tribute to him.

Thomas Drewery, 21, moved to Sussex from Lincolnshire to pursue his dream of becoming a Michelin starred chef.

In a statement, his family said: "Thomas lived in Horsham but hails from Louth, Lincolnshire. Two years ago he came to Sussex to follow his dream of becoming a Michelin starred chef.

"Thomas worked in The Pass restaurant at South Lodge Hotel, a job he loved. He made so many friends.

"Thomas touched everyone's hearts and will be very much missed."

Mr Drewery, of Arthur Road, Horsham, died after his grey Ford Focus hit a tree and went into a field off the B2110 near Truckers Ghyll at about 12.30am on Friday.

The incident was reported to police at 11.20am that day.

No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

Police are still appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or who used the B2110 in the early hours of Friday morning.
